Spring is finally here. The days are getting longer, the weather is turning warmer, and everybody has a little...spring...in their step. Now is the perfect time to open the windows, clean out the cobwebs, and get your home organized.
Here are a few quick tips to help you get started!
One: Make a Checklist
Figuring out where to start can be daunting and it’s easy to get distracted. By making a checklist, you can break down your tasks into easy to manage chunks and make sure you don’t forget anything. You can find a zillion Spring Cleaning checklists on the internet - but we’ve put one together for you just for quick reference.
It will also help you prioritize what needs to be done, estimate how long each task will take and think about what supplies you’re going to need. Speaking of…
Two: Inventory Your Cleaning Supplies
Go through your to do list and compare it to the supplies you have on hand. Perhaps you need compostable yard bags for garden clippings, a spare pair of rubber gloves to tackle the kitchen, or more furniture polish to really make the place sparkle.
You can save time and get a step ahead on spring cleaning by sending an Envoy out to get your supplies and bring them to your home. (hyperlink to homepage or registration)
Three: Breaking Down Your Tasks
You don’t have to do it all at once! Take it a room at a time. Once you have the supplies you need, schedule an hour or two for each room you’re going to tackle. Spread it out over a few days or even a few weeks. By tackling your to do list as smaller projects, you’ll feel a greater sense of accomplishment when you complete each one.
